Wherever the wind blows
04:04
|
|||
You heat the engine up, the house on your back,
like a fast snail you follow your path.
The destination nobody knows,
we just go wherever the wind blows.
Windy roads through mountain tops,
the waterfall breeze is calling for these
ladies to go off to the shore,
connecting the bond with spirit and soul.
The road
is calling us all.
Come on
wherever the wind blows.
Flat tyres and leaks, there's no man we need
to make our way out in this trip of ours.
The storm's on our way, let's swim in the lake.
The engine's still hot, hit the pedals and go.
The road
is calling us all.
Come on
wherever the wind blows.

Never close enough
03:04
|
|||
I also left to travel alone
like so many young people do,
but in my case it wasn't to visit the world
I went looking for the place they call Home.
I searched in every river,
in every sunset in every shore.
I searched in the cities,
in vinyls and books...
Home was never close enough.
I also told my parents I'd write.
Instead there's other travellers I wrote to.
I wondered how long would it take for my roots
to sink in some earth they'd belong to.
I searched in every tea cup,
in every cigarrette and rock'n'roll song.
I leaned on all balconies
and went through each door...
Home was never close enough.
One day on my road, I just couldn't keep searching,
so I slowed down my pace and the world stopped.
There was a fire and oh, I just didn't know
how much I missed those smiles before.
I searched in all the wrong places,
places are just where our bodies grow old.
Nobody told me I had been mistaken all along...
People were Home. People are Home.

Don't look back
03:06
|
|||
Don't you look back for whatever you left behind
will claim all the stories for its own pride.
You will break your neck and you might forget
what it means to live now.
Don't you think twice about how things could have been.
If you hadn't made that choice you just wouldn't be here.
Keep your sorrows for another day, today we can celebrate
what it means to live now.
Don't you look back for whoever you left behind
will catch up if they think you're worth their time.
You just keep your heartbeat on and with blues we'll show them
what it means to live now.
Don't you look back, there's no water only sand
and a path that's pretty walkable stretching in front of your eyes.
One step at a time, enjoy the landscape...
because Now goes away fast.

There's a city where no one sleeps.
It's not New York, it's under the sea,
and no one dares to breath,
that's a job they can never quit.
When I go and visit their folk
they never say goodbye nor hello,
I have to write them letters
so they answer my call.
And as I walk down this narrow path
I wonder: Should I take off
or ask them one more time in my gentle tone
to please shut off their phones?
There's a city where nobody sleeps.
It's not just New York, they are all around me.
These screens bring needs,
I can see the people drowning.
And as I go
back to those old days, when we were young,
I remember crossing some wild eyes.
Where have they gone?
In the city where nobody sleeps
they forget the sun stopped shining
and a lot of them...
… Have to go back to bed alone,
there's no one there just a freaking smartphone.
I turn it off.
You ask why don't I answer your calls.
And as I walk down this narrow path I wonder
should I just tell them to fuck off
or ask them one more time in my gentle tone
to please shut off their phones.

Big Momma
02:30
|
|||
Big Momma,
you're not a girl no more,
you know what you are capable of,
you don't let anyone
put you down on your road.
Big Momma,
eyes open, chin high and heart full
of all those paths you've walked before,
you don't let anyone
put you down on your road.
For when you cross these waters or those mountains
no one's gonna hold your hand.
You gotta keep on moving, keep on moving
to the sound of your own hands.
Big Momma,
there's nothing you've done wrong,
grab your future in those two palms,
you don't let anyone
put you down on your road.
Big Momma,
tell yourself you're going,
let yourself drift, flowing through this world
and no one gets to come.
For when you cross these waters or those mountains
no one's gonna hold your hand.
You gotta keep on moving, keep on moving
to the sound of your own hands.

On laissera nos yeux raconter notre histoire doucement,
en silence.

The Living Village
03:03
|
|||
We're together in this jungle book.
We're together walking barefoot.
We're together in this jungle book
and we don't care about the rest.
We are dreamers of another world,
a Living Village is what we're standing for.
We are dreamers of another world
and we don't care about the rest.
Let us all come together,
let our song
make this fire better.
Tell a story that's worth telling,
tell a story that brings proud to your soul.
Tell our story,
how we made gold out of the soil.
Say you met some kind of weird folks,
say they worries were buried in a hole.
No one set a flag on this land
but we still call it Home.
Let us all come together,
let our song
make this fire better.

Calm down
03:28
|
|||
Calm down,
there's nobody running behind you
to crush all those dreams.
Calm down,
time will keep passing
no matter how fast you work here.
And let go of those people
who don't want to travel along.
Oh, let go of that hurry,
this ain't a life to waste no more.
Calm down,
if nobody's breathing your love
you might as well spread it out.
Calm down,
nobody's keeping track
of all the things you try in doubt.
And let go of those people
who don't want to travel along.
Oh, let go of that hurry,
this ain't a life to waste no more.
Calm down,
come get some sleep
so we sweep al the dust in your mind.
Calm down,
I'm gonna sing all night long,
you just breath in, breath out.
And let go of those people
who don't want to travel along.
Oh, let go of that hurry,
… there ain't a moment to waste no more.

We fail to listen
02:55
|
|||
They say if you don't have a broken heart
you aren't Human, you are not entitled to that.
And I'm so terribly human,
I can't describe it.
My fate is blurry, my faith is crumbling down
who said tomorrow is supposed to be a surprise?
And today's a gift. For my broken heart
you said that too many times.
They say if you don't have a sunken heart
you haven't lived, you have to get drunk at least once
and at the bar there's a guy called Mark
giving advice about life
but his life's not something he talks about.
It's so much easier to judge.
We talk too many times.
They say: Keep your worries to yourself,
that time will heal but you will still never forget.
Life ain't fair, everybody knows,
but it's a real art to pretend that we don't.
They say: Take my hand and let's go
but it's crisis time, I don't have gas for two,
you'll have to walk.
So we run
from a world that turns their back to the young.
So I say:
If you don't know where to start,
start avoiding the things you don't like.
It will take you somewhere,
we hope somewhere nice,
and if it doesn't
come back and ask Mark.
It's so much easier to judge.
We talk too many times.
We talk a lot,
we fail to listen, too many times.

The Promised Land
05:38
|
|||
We're gonna go... to the Promised Land.
We're on a road with no destination so far,
the path of our dreams will be followed, no doubt.
The sun's in the sky, the wind's in the trees,
no ideas in mind, we walk barefeet.
We look for a land where our village can stand.
Nature is our tribe and love our guide.
People, oh people, take us by the hand,
lead us to the Promised Land.
We're gonna go to the Promised Land.
We'll cross rivers and mountains and sand,
we won't give up even if we don't go fast.
Oh brother, oh sister, join the march
and dare to follow your dreams at last.
We're gonna go to the Promised Land.
We look for a land where our Village can stand.
